Slumdog Millionnaire

My curiosity arose whenever saw this movie swept 8 of the Oscar Academy Awards.

It was a nice movie, though. I was shocked by looking at the slums shown in the movie. Is the poverty level so serious there in fact? I felt such a fortunate living here...have decent meals, shelters ( a proper bed, basic supply of water and electricity) etc.

Guys, imagine the life staying in the slums, where the basic needs (food, shelter, clothes) are always things to worry for each day!

The kids starred in the movie were invited to attend the Oscar ceremony Following the trip to the Los Angeles, those-used-to-be-living-in-the-slums kids began to repel. They just could not accept what they are having once enjoyed the luxury trip in USA. Depression, sickness attacked.

See, there is such a big gap in the living standard around the world! As part of the world, i think we all have the obligation to increase living standard of ourselves and family. Especially the undergraduates...Aren't we the hope of our family, the country? Level up our lives, does it mean saving enough of money and then pour then in the luxury shop??Perhaps some were saying, let those with great rich and great influence to change their lives. I have nothing to do with it. Well, it's true we, the normal people can't do much. Yet just wishing those who read this spare a thought for the real poor people, instead of complaining the things in life (we are extremely doing fine, compared to them, am i right?).

Cheer up, guys! Let's do something!

This movie actually reminded me of the kids in Vietnam.

The kids there came to us, and begging hard for money, just to make a simple living, or perhaps they were forced to do so, for the sake of bringing in money to their big boss, I assume.

Though we tend to shun away from those people, but this movie certainly opened our eyes wider and got us to see the world even clearer. There would certainly be many stories behind those kids which we possibly take forever to understand.

Apart from that,I thought that Slumdog Millionaire taught many other things to its viewers too. For instance, the importance in making decisions. My mother had some kind of heart-thumping experiences when she was watching Jamal answering every single question in the game show. Observe the movie closely, it meticulously reflects the great contrasts in consequence of making bad and good decisions, you either fall in the realm of Jamal or Salim in the end of the day.

Goodness yes, we should be thankful for whatever we currently have. That's a very important concept which is worth holding on.

thanks ben for your comment. yea, never take things for granted..

i agree that decision making is so vital, lead us toward different path.
i wonder how is the cross linking of the pathway of life...somehow an interesting topic for me to think about..

I reckon, the possibility of cross-linking in our lives depend solely on our decisions, like what I've mentioned.

Nevertheless, unpredictable events happen occasionally, thus in turn unveils certain incidents which occur from the outer side of our expectations.

But I strongly believe that what kind of people you are, will very much likely cross-link with the almost similar individuals later on in your life. With that, I mean those who become your friends, your eternal companion, etc...

近朱者赤,近墨者黑. This phrase is true enough to explain or at least able to assume what kind of fate we're soon to encounter.

A book which I read a year ago ( "This is Not The Life I Ordered", by Deborah C. Stevens)just illuminates this greatly.
